NAV 2015 - BUG Virtual Tables are not Complied.

Hi All,

In continuation to the Last post where i listed all the Virtual / Hidden Tables in NAV 2015.

I was trying to access some of the Virtual tables for a customization but i found out that the Metadata of the tables is not updated.

Till 2009 we had a option to force compilation of all objects in alter database by enabling and disabling the Role Tailored Client, but i doubt we can force system to update the system tables metadata with NAV 2015.

Below tables cannot be used with NAV 2015 Cronus W1 Build -

2000000042

For the Details of Steps how to Export and Import you can refer the blog article here.

Hi all,

UPDATE - IF you face issues of Schema During This Process Please refer the Post Here for Issue Resolution.

If you haven't read the Previous post, please refer Index Post here.

Let's check the Content of Backup Taken Via Emport-NavData.

Microsoft have provided a Commandlet for the same i.e  Get-NAVDataFile.
This Commandlet takes file Location and Name as parameter and returns the details of Content of the backup File.

Open Powershell and Let's check the two file content using Get-NAVDataFile =
--------------------------------------------------------------
Get-NAVDataFile -FileName "c:\Two_Comapniesbackup_Service.navdata"
---------------------------------------------------------------

So its clear from the Result of Commandlet that the above file contain 2 Companies with IncludeApplicationData only.

NAV 2013 & NAV 2013 R2 - Comman Issue Related to Dimension in Step 2 Continued.....

Hi all,

As discussed and Found the Cause of Issue related to Dimension During Upgrade, Lets' see how to Resolve Same Before Upgrading or During Step 2.

If you haven't Read the Earlier Post Use The Link.

NAV 2013 & NAV 2013 R2 - Comman Issue Related to Dimension in Step 2

There are two points which make our life Easy -

1. In Earlier Version i.e 2009 / 2009 SP1 / 2009 R2, the Dimension Values were used to Store in a seprate Table.

2. The Upgrade Step Batch Job Commits the Transaction Before the Error Occurs, i.e If Table X have Issue in Data Everything done before Table X is Committed.

NAV 2013 R2 Synchronization Paradigm Continued..

Hi All,

Let's continue from the point we left in earlier Post. If you haven't read earlier post read it here

Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2

SCENARIO 2 (DEPRECATED):
Single-tenancy / Legacy mode
“Prevent data loss from table changes” = No (Manually opted, not persistent)

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

Setting the “Prevent data loss from table changes” C/SIDE switch to “No” has been intended to be used as last resource in a pure multitenancy scenario and in Test or Staging environments when partners does not have any business data database mounted against the application database.

Never change for any reason this parameter to “No” when developing against a single-tenant / Legacy mode database.
