SSRS Report - Multi Value Parameter Throws Error - The status code returned from the server was: 500
Hi All,
Its have been quite a while that i didn't wrote a article. For last few weeks i was working on an assignment of SSRS Reports.
With Assignment i was able to use the Great features of SQL, but at the same time there were some challenges due to simplicity in navision for Some specific points like Dates, Options, Flow fields etc.
After Developing the Report when i host it on the Report Server and Tried to Run the Report, i faced the Error message -
"Message: Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerServerErrorException: An unknown error occurred while processing the request on the server. The status code returned from the server was: 500"
In the Article below we will see how to resolve the Same.
Reason for Error - Report which we are trying to Execute is Exceeding the Default size of 4 MB.
Steps for Resolution -
1. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\.
2. As per your Version of SQL Installed Select the Folder having MSRS in Name i.e Microsoft SQL Reporting Service. In My Case the Folder name is MSRS10_50.MSSQLSERVER
3. You will find Reporting Services Folder inside that, open Folder and Open REPORT MANAGER.
4. Keep a Safe Copy of Web.config.
5. Open Web.config and Search for - <httpRuntime executionTimeout
6. Change as shown below -

<httpRuntime executionTimeout="9000" />
--------Modified Row -------------
<httpRuntime executionTimeout=”9000″ maxRequestLength = “50000” />
By default, the property MaxRequestLength doesn´t exist in the config files. To modify it we have to do changes as discussed above.
Save the Web. Config file & then you will have to restart the RS service before trying again.
