Thanks for the great response to this series.

In this article, we will do data migration from Business Central 14 to Business Central 2019 Wave 2(15).

During Upgrade we will use Custom Microsoft Base Application Extension that we developed in the Last Article.

This is part 1 of the upgrade which only contains steps that need to be executed in Business Central 14.

MSDYN365BC 2019 Wave 2 - Upgrading an Modified C/AL Database - Part 2.

Hi Readers,

Thanks for the great response to this series.

In this article, we will setup the Microsoft Base App (From Business Central 2019 Wave 2) for our Upgrade Merge.

Consider this as Restoring a Target Database From Product DVD that we will merge our customization on. As in Business Central 2019 Wave 2, there are no objects we will setup the Base Application that we will use in future articles.

MSDYN365BC 2019 Wave 2 - Upgrading an Modified C/AL Database - Part 1.

Hi Readers,

In this article, we will do some quick customization in a Business Central Spring 2019 Release(14) and we will use that database in this series to upgrade to Business Central 2019 Wave 2 (15).

As I said earlier I will be using Business Central 14 (Cumulative Update 08) and that is the only version that I can use to Upgrade to Business Central 15 (Cumulative Update 03).

If you have a different version of Business Central 14, then refer to the compatible version of 15.

I was super excited during migration and it was interesting to do that migration to the future latest and greatest version of the product.

Hi Readers,

With Release of Business Central 2019 Wave
2, there is a lot of wave of questions about upgrading to Business Central 2019 Wave 2.

I thought of writing about it to clear a few confusion.

As we all know with MSDYN365BC 2019 Wave 2, Windows Client and Development Environment were retired.

We can still upgrade to Business Central 2019 Wave 2 from any version of Dynamics NAV. Based on the current version there can be one or multiple levels of data migration to reach Business Central 2019 Wave 2 (15.X).

We are upgrading one of the customers to the latest and greatest version to Business Central 2019 Wave 2.

MSDYN365BC 2019 Wave 2 - Upgrading an unmodified C/AL Database.

Hi Readers,

In this article, we will discuss Upgrading a database to Business Central Wave 2 from Business Central Spring 2019 Release (14.x).

This all is for a Business Central Spring Database that does not include any C/AL Code Customization. The database can only include Third Party and Custom Extensions.

With this upgrade, we will replace the C/AL base application with a new Business Central 2019 release Wave 2 base application extension.

Prerequisite - Upgrade to Business Central Spring 2019 Cumulative Update 4 (version 14.5). If your current deployment is less than Cumulative Update 4 (14.x) then Upgrade to CU 04.
