How to Use - Job Queue Parameter String?

Hi All,

Today we will discuss about the Parameter String Field in Navision Job Queue Entry Page / Form. The Functionality is still same, so the steps below can be replicated and used in NAV Classic also. For Demo Purpose We will be using NAV 2013 R2.

Why we need to have a Parameter?

Consider a Scenario where you want to does multiple things with a single objects in NAS based on parameter you pass. Example - There should be different action on the sales Header Table based on Parameter that I Pass.

So Let's see how to use the Parameter String in Job Queue.

For the Demo, I have created the Job Queue & Job Queue Category List as DEMO.

NAS - Email Intimation when NAS Services Stops.

Hi all,

A common question that we have in mind about NAS is -
what happens if NAS Services are turned off?

We are mostly looking for something like a E-mail Intimation to Administrator.

This article is based on inputs provided by +Arul Venthan  and +Neha Pr .

This article is not for NAS Service only. This applies to all windows services and can be setup for any of them.

How to Install Navision Application Server (NAS)?

Hi all,

While trying to install NAV Application Server(NAS), i faced lots of challenges. So i thought to prepare a How to install NAS.

Remember some Points before you start -

1) NAS Require a Windows Login to start.
This is because it is a service and it is not possible to define a database login in a service. So you need to create a login in the domain or on the server to do it.

2) SYSADMIN Rights to Windows Login in SQL Server.
Now you have your Windows login, but this login has NO rights yet in SQL-server. So you need to create that Windows-login in SQL-server and make him sysadmin. See the manual on how to do that in SQL.
